T-6 Complete
Karen's Story:
Scar tissue on her spinal cord causing discomfort
then infection began the process to her T6 spinal
cord injury. Not too long after that she found herself
across the country in therapy; 6 hours a day, doing
a program that consisted of lifting, stimulation,
standing and classes. After being there for 10 weeks,
she ventured back to Massachusetts and started outpatient
therapy at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center where
she does physical therapy twice a week and occupational
therapy once a week.
Karen has combined Journey Forward as a compliment
to her current therapy and considers it part of
her total body cross-training regimen. Karen states:
“While everyone else ignores your legs,
Journey Forward takes care of them; they love
your legs!” Karen has seen improvement in
her core stability as well as increased activity
in the legs since she has been working out. Her
overall goal is to preserve her body and stay
strong and healthy and prevent complications.
Currently she is working on getting back into
her gift of playing the Cello. Her message to
anyone that is considering Journey Forward is:
“Go! You want to take advantage at every
chance to be as strong as you can be.”
