Internship Mission:
Journey Forward internships aim to provide qualified candidates with an environment for understanding the role of exercise based therapy plays in preventive care, rehabilitation, and independence for those with a Spinal Cord Injury or other neurological disorder.
Journey Forward is offering internships (unpaid) to qualified individuals. Internships are currently available for the Spring 2010 and Summer 2010 semesters. Interested individuals should send a resume and cover letter describing their background, interests and career goals to the contact below.
Applicant Qualifications:
1. Applicants must be enrolled in an Exercise Science or Kinesiology program.
2. Applicants must be available for a minimum of 8 hours a week.

Learn a basic understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and other issues that are associated with Spinal Cord Injuries |

Training in proper safety procedure for spotting and transferring clients |

Understanding of specific equipment and the basic operation of each |
 |
Learn to work with a variety of different clients on specific exercise routines |
 |
Under the close supervision of a specialist interns will assist in working with clients |
